8.7.14. Manticore Search backups

Working with backups is performed in the "Manticore Search" section on the "Backups" tab:

Important points:

  • Backups only work for tables that are added manually via SQL or JSON API (Manticore Search's built-in API).
  • Backups:
    • Usually created at night.
    • Do not use space in the instance (are stored on a separate server).
    • Not created for empty instances with no user or service data.
  • Maximum number of backups at any given time — 5 (excluding a backup for the 1st day of the month).
  • A backup for the 1st day of the month is not created if automatic backups are disabled in settings.

Using the "Backup settings" button, you can manage the creation of automatic backups:

  • Backup frequency:
    • Once a day — daily.
    • Once a week — every Sunday.
    • Once a month — on the 1st day of each month.
    • Do not create automatic backups — completely disables the creation of automatic backups (including backups for the 1st day of the month).
  • Number of backups — from 1 to 5.
  • Backup type — structure and data, or structure only.

Instance can be restored from a backup. When restoring, the current content is replaced by the data from the backup.

  1. In the "Manticore Search" section, on the "Backups" tab, click "Restore".
  2. Select the date and backup type (structure and data or structure only), then click "Restore".

On the backups page, a history of all restore requests is displayed.
